"PT" stands for more than
just physical therapy
at Moore Performance Health

What is

Performance therapy?

Recovery is important, but it’s only part of the picture. Performance Therapy takes physical therapy beyond simply treating pain or injury. It’s about restoring confidence, building strength, improving movement, and preparing your body for the demands of your life. No cookie-cutter routines or exercises just to fill the hour. Every session has a purpose, every progression is intentional, and every treatment plan is designed around what you want to achieve.

What if your therapist

Was also a strength coach?

Getting out of pain is one thing. Getting back to your full potential is another. When your physical therapist also brings the perspective of a strength and conditioning coach, treatment goes beyond simply recovering from an injury. We reassess regularly, identify weaknesses or deficits that may still exist, and work to get you back to where you were, or even better than before your injury. And if those deficits contributed to your injury in the first place, we want to address those, too.

It’s also why many of our patients choose to continue working with us through personal training long after their recovery.

What does a session

Actually look like?

The answer depends on how you’re feeling when you walk through the door. Every session starts with understanding where you are that day. We assess how you’re moving, use our clinical experience to determine the best approach, and reassess after treatment to see what actually made a difference. When something works, we build on it. Often, we’ll use hands-on manual therapy to prepare your body for more effective movement and exercise, but every session is adapted to what you need most. There’s no predetermined routine, just thoughtful, individualized care that evolves with your progress.

Hands-on treatment

Manual skills

The hands-on work that supports your movement plan — the part you cannot do on your own.

Active Release Techniques
ART

Highly effective for managing soft tissue disorders. The therapist uses their hands to apply precise pressure and tension to break up adhesions and scar tissue. ART can improve flexibility, strength, and range of motion, and it is a specialized skill that only a few physical therapists possess.

Shockwave Therapy
My ACT

Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy is a non-invasive procedure often used to treat injured bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. With no need for painkillers, shockwave therapy can offer fast pain relief and aid recovery for a range of chronic conditions.

Trigger Point & Functional Dry Needling

Helps alleviate muscle pain and tension by inserting fine needles into specific trigger points. This technique promotes healing by releasing tight muscle bands and increasing blood flow to the affected area. As a result, patients often experience reduced pain and improved muscle function.

Muscle Energy Techniques
MET

Involve the patient actively using their muscles while the therapist applies a counterforce. This helps improve joint mobility, reduce muscle stiffness, and enhance overall flexibility. MET is particularly effective for treating musculoskeletal conditions and restoring normal movement patterns.

Joint Mobilization & Manipulation

The therapist applies controlled movements to a joint to increase its range of motion and decrease pain. This can help restore normal joint function, reduce stiffness, and improve overall mobility. It is particularly beneficial for individuals with joint restrictions or dysfunctions.

Selective Functional Movement Assessment
SFMA

A comprehensive evaluation system used to identify dysfunctional movement patterns. This assessment helps pinpoint the root cause of pain and movement limitations, allowing for a more targeted and effective treatment plan. SFMA is valuable for optimizing movement and preventing injuries.

Functional Movement Screening
FMS

A screening tool used to assess seven fundamental movement patterns in individuals without current pain or injury. The FMS identifies movement deficiencies and asymmetries that may increase the risk of injury. Addressing these issues improves overall movement quality and performance.

Fascial Distortion Model
FDM

A hands-on treatment approach guided by how you describe your symptoms and how you move. Your therapist uses this information to select targeted manual techniques as part of your individualized care plan.

Quality over quantity

Make every visit count

Your time is valuable. One-on-one attention helps you make the most of each appointment, with a visit schedule based on what you need.

Every appointment, with one licensed therapist

Your appointment is dedicated to you and your goals. One-on-one care gives your therapist time to assess your progress, provide hands-on treatment, and guide exercises that make the most of your time together.

Many of our patients attend one or two visits per week. Three visits per week are reserved for cases where that frequency is appropriate, including some post-surgical recoveries. Your schedule reflects your needs and progress.

Focused sessions and a clear plan between appointments can help you save time and conserve insurance visits. You can choose individualized, one-on-one care while using your in-network physical therapy benefits. Your exact costs depend on your plan.

golf physical therapy

Low backs, lead-side hips, elbows and shoulders are the usual suspects. Because we are physical therapists first, we can treat the problem and train around it in the same hour instead of sending you somewhere else and starting over.

GOLF REHAB, PERFORMANCE AND SWING MECHANICS

Greg brings more than twenty-five years in practice to golfers coming back from surgery or long-standing back and neck pain, and runs the return-to-sport testing that clears you to play a full round again. Trevor, a certified strength and conditioning specialist, builds the mobility, strength and swing mechanics that add power and keep you healthy on the course.

01

Back pain through 18 holes

When your low back gives out by the back nine, we treat it and train around it in the same hour, so you are not sent elsewhere to start over.

02

Back to the tee after surgery

After surgery, you are cleared to play by return-to-sport testing, not by how your shoulder happens to feel that week.

Expert Bike Fitting & Long-Term Biomechanics

"Greg did a fantastic job fitting my bike! I have had previous bike fits that never felt right after weeks of trying to tolerate the new position. I would always make adjustments here and there along the way, wondering why I ever paid for a bike fit in the first place. Not this time! It has been a year since we had our fit, and I have never felt as comfortable on a bike as I do now. Greg's knowledge of bicycle and human biomechanics and attention to detail led to a great experience. I highly recommend Greg to anyone looking to get their bike fit!"

College Football Back Pain & Active Recovery

"This is the perfect place for athletes. I’ve been dealing with back pain for a while, and I needed someone to help before my college football season starts. Since going here I’ve been able to do more with my back in 2 weeks than I have in 2 months. He gets you up and moving and shows you different variations of workouts that don’t cause pain. I honestly look forward to going every week because I learn so much. It has helped me drastically and I know my body will be in the healthiest of conditions long before my season starts."

Breaking the Injury Cycle for Back Pain & Soccer

"So there are physical therapists, and then there’s Greg. I’ve had a lot of sports injuries over the years and my kids have had surgeries that required physical therapy. Greg has put all of us back together and made us stronger. The great thing about Greg is he cares, he works with you and your goals. And integrates seamlessly with our physicians. Greg helped me get back to soccer after I injured my back, he taught me how to protect my back and keep it strong. I had been to two other physical therapist before Greg, and it seemed like a repeat cycle. Get hurt, get PT, play, get hurt again. Greg broke the cycle and will forever be my physical therapist. Greg, administers physical therapy at a completely different level. Would highly recommend him. Wish I could give 10 stars."

Avoiding Achilles Surgery via Sound Wave Therapy

"After trying physical therapy and steroid injections for my achilles tendonosis, my orthopedic doctor recommended that I consider sound wave therapy in order to avoid surgery. He cautioned me that insurance would not cover this therapy (too new) and that there were only three practitioners in the Metro Detroit area that he knew of that administered this type of therapy. He was excited for me that I agreed to consider it. He gave me Greg Moore's phone number and asked me to return to his office after I completed the six visits. I hesitated about a week before I called Greg Moore. I arranged a Saturday a.m. visit after the session, I noted that I could walk a bit faster and farther because I had less pain. By the third visit, I was descending stairs normally (except while carrying a heavy bundle.) And before my final session, I was traveling the store aisles much faster than I had been for 1 1/2 years. I am thrilled that I took a chance. I no longer believe that surgery is in my future for my achilles. I am not walking completely pain free 100% of the time, but am significantly doing better and plan to continue working on the exercises Greg recommended the first day we met."

1-on-1 Hip PT & ESWT Success

"I’ve had lots of experience going to PT for issues with my hip, and never really been impressed until going to Greg at MPH for doing both PT and ESWT treatment. Doing a 1 on 1 PT style, Greg worked closely with me, showing me exercises that other places never did before, and making sure that I maintained good form before doing the exercises on my own. Having the ESWT tool for a supplemental approach to working on the issues that I was having really helped with improving my condition also. His knowledge and sincere concern for doing what he can to help get me back to doing the activities that I like to do was very refreshing. If I ever need to have PT again, I’m going back to Greg."

Fast Recovery from Proximal Hamstring Tendinopathy

"I've been seeing Greg for about a month and a half now for proximal hamstring tendinopathy and I can say that the results are incredible. I went from playing sports at maybe a 40-50% level to being almost back at 100% already. I've only been seeing Greg once a week for about a month and a half and we've been doing shockwave treatment along with a couple exercises during that time. To have this much recovery this quick feels incredible. I was nervous that I wouldn't be ready to go for my half marathon in a month and a half and more nervous that I might not ever be getting back up to 100% again. The shockwave treatment is somewhat crazy sounding at first, but I highly recommend it. I'm a very skeptical person, but I'm a firm believer that it works. One of the main reasons I think it works is I wasn't the best (sorry Greg lol) about doing my PT on my own throughout this time, so I think the shockwave treatment has been doing some heavy lifting. Greg is also soon to have a store front with even more space and equipment at his disposal so amplify everything I'm saying by even more soon. I highly recommend Greg if you want great one on one treatment with someone who will make sure that they go out of their way to get you to where you want to be. Stop hesitating, pick up the phone and call right now, it's going to be worth it!"
